Functional Nutrition

Lydia specializes in functional nutrition incorporating her knowledge of food and supplements to optimize health.

As the root cause of many health ailments, Lydia places a primary focus on gut health. By addressing the root cause and then detoxifying from harmful toxins the gut can heal, promoting whole-body health.

Lydia will help you on your health journey by finding a nutrition and supplement regimen that is sustainable by considering food preference, lifestyle and cooking ability.

What is Functional Nutrition?

Home: List

Prioritizing food and supplements to reverse diseases

  • Patient-specific nutrition and supplement recommendations

Addressing the Root Cause of Disease

  • Most diseases and illnesses come from poor gut health leading to a compromised immune system.

Patient-Centered

  • Focused on finding a nutrition and supplement regimen that is sustainable and fits your health needs.

What to expect

Prior to the first visit, an in depth assessment will be filled out. The first one hour appointment will go over your full medical history, medication, and supplements. We will also discuss current nutrition habits, goals and barriers. From this and the assessment a strategy will be developed. If needed, labs will be ordered to identify underlying factors that can significantly influence your overall health which needs addressed in conjunction with the nutritional focus.

At the follow-up visit, more in depth nutrition recommendations will be put into place. Further education on disease state, supplement regimen, or nutrition education will occur at this appointment.

If labs were run, you will come back into the office to discuss the labs and put a plan of care into place based on your blood chemistry. Usually supplements will be suggested and nutrition recommendations will be put into place.

Follow-up appointments will vary based on patient needs. Often labs will be rerun to determine if supplements and nutrition recommendations are improving overall health.
